In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the fertilization of the egg with sperm in test tubes in the laboratory after taking mature eggs from the mother’s ovaries to be placed with good sperm until fertilization occurs. Then the fertilized egg is returned to the mother’s uterus. This process takes from two to five days, and the doctor can transfer more than one embryo into the mother’s uterus. This procedure is used to treat various infertility problems.
